save a person.. but im in trouble..

I was leaving a pub i goto and walking around i see a homeless person attacking two chicks and some dude.

The homeless guy was hitting the chicks with a metal object...
the guy didn't do anything... so i jumped in and took the homeless guy down. it was a full out fight... the homeless guy was drunk and on some drugs. took some time to get this guy down..

so i call up the cops explain what happened.. they said to wait there and give a full statement, so i wait.. cops finally roll up give them my info blah blah and take me and the homeless guy to the station...

we get there i waited for over 10mins just to re say my statement to another cop.. hour roles around and they let me go.

the two girls and the guy give me there info and promised me a free beer or two =)

what a night...

The guy might press charges, and they will be calling me later today when they release him. I hope not tho.

Been there done that, I ran over 1 of 2 guys that were beating a girl up. Turned out the guy I ran over, his dad had major money (ran the San Antonio Airport). At work one day a woman shows up with a papers and a dollar attached to the back. She asks for David Bailey, seeing the money I quickly told her that was me...oops I have now been "served".

Long story short, I gave a deposition and they dropped the case.

Why did you get a dollar?

Because hes likely to accept the letter if its got money attached

We now know, never accept letters with money attached.

Your probably about to be sued.

Process servers can be pretty clever that way (used to work with one). Personally, I can't be bought for a buck, though...

I was a kid at the time, must have been about '82 or '83 So I was about 19 or 20. They attach the money because people tend to lie and say they are not the person the server is looking for. I dont remember for sure but I would bet she yanked the bill off before serving me.
