1. Not necessary, if your system is secure and runs stable on version 4.5, why botherupgrading?
2. There is a workaround but it can't be done with yum (something like apt-get in Debian) just with 1 command
3. It might, that's the thing with upgrades, you always have a risk. Is there any special reason why you want to upgrade?
