For $100/m and requiring full access to the server, you might as well get a dedicated server with your budget.

I would say get a Windows VPS, it'll be easier to manage while you learn the ropes. Look at http://www.a2b2.com

Yes, you can look at DotNetPanel as a control panel which is made specific for Windows. It is very light weight and you are able to perform all reseller level operations in it. What are you requirements in terms of number of domains, disk space, bandwidth?

Yes, you will get full access and you can access your servers using Remote access software such as Microsoft's Remote Desktop Control. You can install any applications on the servers.

# They can be different hardware wise and software wise. All depends on your budget and requirements

# A decent dedicated server on SoftLayer costs about $275. You might be able to get a good server for this prices on some of the reputed DC.

Hi MMUK99,

Welcome to WHT!

I am curious, why no PLESK?

If you want full control, you would have to get a dedicated server. Even VPS will have limitations. No host will give you full access to a shared server, for obvious reasons. I am not sure how a dedicated server solution works within your budget as I am unfamiliar with anything but USD. Have you checked around at all?

why no plesk? ..... good question
i hate it, the graphic user interface just doesnt cut it for me. i guess i would be more inclined towards helm because its easier to navigate.

would u say that Plesk is better than Helm??

so if i a server gave Microsoft remote desktop access then i would be able to install applications. I need a reseller hosting.. (if a reseller gave me Rem.. Desk.. then would i be okay?)

i do not need full control exactly... just the ability to control certian aspects of the server.. i.e application installation

Hello,

Welcome to WHT.

Reseller Hosting providers would not allow you to install any applications on the server. Your budget is quite good for the Windows VPS you will get RDP connection and you are allowed to install third party software/applications on windows vps. You will have full access to your VPS.
