quick quesiton about E5320 4mb and 8mb cache

I searched Google and found there E5320 clovertown listed at 4mb cache, some at 8mb cache, which one is right?

My server when I placed an order is 8mb cache, but I can only see 8 of them listed like this:

Processor #1 Vendor: GenuineIntel
Processor #1 Name: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5320 @ 1.86GHz
Processor #1 speed: 1862.537 MHz
Processor #1 cache size: 4096 KB

Am I missing something about 8mb cache?

What does cat /proc/cpuinfo on your server show? The E5320 should have 8MB cache.

I don't know, 8 of them are listed in the WHM server information. The phpsysinfo-dev also display:

Processors 8
Model Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5320 @ 1.86GHz
Chip MHz 1862.54 MHz
Cache Size 4096 KB

I'm using Cent OS 4.5 btw.

i think it means 8 mb cache total (2mb per core under load) but intel may have some special feature where the cpu can reassign upto 4mb of cache to any core and maybe thats why its showing them up like that -*theory*
