Hi!
I am still looking for something..my own niche..and this is a brand-new idea:
Private label script hosting
Do you have customers who want to put a program that is clearly beta software on your production server?
Do you have people that are learning scripting..and you really don't have the means to support them?
Are you tired of telling customers "No..you can't have that here." or "I can't support that." or "You'll have to go somewhere else for that."
In this times of changing needs..and the marketplace of everybody trying to provide exactly the same services..isn't it time *YOU* offered something new? Something they can't get anywhere else?
I'm be honest. I have two small vps servers at the moment. I got them both to install and learn hypervm...and get back into the vps game somehow.
If this is an idea any of you think can fly..PM me. I have not thought about pricing yet..but all of that can be worked out later. I can get bigger, faster servers if therre is demand and need.
Bottom line is this: Your customer makes a request..like the two I'm working on right now:
I want Magneto E-Commernce software on Cpanel (It is a beta)
I want Simple Groupware (Serious security risk)
I simply install it, test get it up and running on a vps..and lock down access to it to only that one person.
There are many other ways of limiting the chances the server itself will get rooted...but..I envision doing regular backups will take much of the danger away..and vigilant monitoring if something goes wrong. After all..there is a world of difference between a compromised vps and a compromised server.
It could work like this: You will decide on how many control panels you want to offer..and on what OS. You point a subdomain on your primary domain to the vps. You forward all tickets relating this to me..I deal with the problems...I forward the solutions/answers to you..and either we make it look like the ticket response came from you..or..in fact..it does with my answers/solutions.
I love scripts..and currently have almost any control panel available you can imagine.
PM me or email me at
bryon@mtnrcs.com if this sounds like something that would be of interest to you.
It should be mentioned I am a master of unique Cpanel setups as well. Several different versions of apache, php, perl and MySQL are no problem..I just don't guarantee Cpanel is going to have access to all that. I can guarantee Cpanel will work, though.
