I want to buy a domain for a personal blog but I am not sure which extension I should get. All of the extensions for this name are available.
I was told that a .com is worth more than the others but I always thought that the .org suited the name.
Should I just get the .com in the end? :/

Get both, and forward .com to .org. It doesn't cost more than a few bucks per year.

Why not buy both and take a year to decide.

For the price of domains I would get at least the .com, .net, and .org.

I would agree with dollar, but seeing as it's only a personal blog, I don't see much reason to get more than 1 extension... the .com.

You can always make some use of the extra domains you own.
I had a domain .com personal domain at first. Then got the .net one. But, am not too eager to get the .org yet.
May be some day I will.

I think in which case you should get the .net too and forward the com/net to the org.

For my music website I only got the .com, and I'm somewhat of a domain freak.
I don't see a reason to confuse people with more domain extensions that necessary.
Grabbing more tld's is only necessary when the domain is either worth money or for a business like a trademark.
For a personal blog I see it somewhat like a waste of money.

I haven't bought any of the domains yet because I am still thinking...I really want JUST to .org actually I mean if it's just for a personal blog, surely there isn't anything to think about value of the name?

That's why it's best to forward (and not mirror) .com to .org, which will host her blog.
It's all fine to use a .net (computer/hosting company) or .org (personal/non-profit project) as a BRAND, but just make sure you ALSO OWN the .COM, or you'll regret it for the rest of your life.

My advice again, if it's only a personal blog, get the .com only. If want to use the .org, then get the .com and .net also.

OK hehe.
I agree to get the .com but .net is just a waste, then again it's only 7$ or so, hurry though laydee before the domains increases in price.
