Micfo: The worst host I've ever seen!

Last Sunday, I bought a hosting plan on Micfo for about $70. Everything was running fine, until this Tuesday. On Tuesday, however, I couldn't login to my Cpanel nor the member's area. I couldn't even access my site. Their member's area said that my login was incorrect even though I logged in with the same email 2 days ago!

So, now as usual, I shoot the support an email. To my horror, they reply that they don't have record of the transaction. I explain the whole situation AGAIN. The reply I receive is pretty much the same and this time they even cooly say that why don't I buy the hosting plan again!

I'm like, Oh my god, my credit card got billed, you people disabled my account and then say that I buy again??? Are you nuts! Then I shoot them another email demanding my $70 back or they reinstate my account. Well, I haven't received a reply yet.

Moreover, their support is so damn slow. I marked my ticket as Critical and even then they take 1 whole day to reply!

Seriously I haven't had such an experience before. Even free hosts don't disable the accounts of people without-warning and for no apparent reason. In Micfo's case, it wasn't even free and I paid them $70!

Can you people suggest what can I do to get my money or account back? I've seem to run into a dead end. I've been sending tickets since Tuesday but to no avail. Any help will be appreciated.

PS: I recommend you never buy a plan from Micfo...

Hello,
Sorry to hear about your bad experience.
How did you pay?If via paypal, open a dispute.
Or call your credit card company, and make this transaction as fraud.
Regards

Edit : They have phone support also, why dont you try to make them a call?

I don't think their phone no's toll free. I don't live in the US, so it'll be quite expensive.

Yeah, I paid via PayPal, I guess I'll have to do that if Micfo doesn't reply in a day or two.

Anyways, thanks for replying...

I can see a live chat in their site. Did you try that?

Matt,

It's doubtful their livechat will be able to deal with a billing related issue like this.

ruchirkc,

My only recommendation would be to continue to update the ticket every 24 hours or so & await their response. There's obviously been a fluke that has affected your account & billing details.

I wish you the best!
Let us know how it goes.

Welcome to WHT.

Do a Search for Micfo
and you will find out more about Micfo and their ways!!

Since you paid via PayPal you might also want to update the ticket stating that you paid via PayPal and include the Transaction # if you haven't already done so.
I hope you get your refund and soon. If I were you I would be looking for another host.

$70? Ouch. Did you upload a lot of files to that space? You should be able to at least get them back if you did, probably through the livechat system. Hope that helps!

If you have a backup - charge back and get a better host!

That is quite likely the case, but this has been going on since Tuesday according to the OP. I must say my patience would be long gone by now.

If you paid with a credit card and it turns out they can't find any record of the transaction and issue you a refund, you could contact your bank for a chargeback. This is only a last resort though. Push for an amiable resolution with the provider first.

Sorry to hear. Just search their name and i think you would rarely find one or two threads which state they are a good company.

More negative threads and they are not at all professional when it comes to business.

Yeah.. call your bank or credit card issuer and ask it's really charged or not first.. if it's charged just dispute it and re-order from them if you like to... since they are claiming that no record in their system, the bank/issuer will chargeback it..

Thumbs up

Try one thing , place your ticket id and the domain name over here so that their admins will make it fast to reply back you. They will have to answer over here also , since most of the webhosting companies go through this forum daily.

Hope for the best !

Sorry to revive an old thread, but I've been trying to figure out how to get in touch with Mr. Amir directly for a while. Their customer service people say it's against policy to allow people to email him directly. Great customer service, especially considering the issue at hand is one of personnel and isn't really something I want to talk to a CSR about. If anyone has his email address or anything else useful, please send it my way. Thanks!
