Some one interested in my domain...
Ok, recently I got a mail from someone interested in buying a domain from me that is under my ownership.
My question is how to sell it so that the person doesn't scam me by filing a chargeback or something after the deal.
Since I am from India and it seems that guy is not from India, so I can accept Paypal or Western Union. Western Union is safe for me but may be the buyer won't like it. Paypal, the buyer can file for chargeback after the domain transfer.
So what are the other safe ways to achieve this deal.

If he chargebacks in Paypal, you can dispute it, and if you say "I sold an intangible service" and escalate it without discussion, paypal will give the money back to you. The rule is:
- Insist on saying "it was an intangible service"
- Don't argue, directly escalate the issue.

Thanks for the advice Harzem, but why to get into disputes if there are ways to keep it safe (if any).

Paypal is safe I know, and thanks for what you are trying to point out, but then we have heard so many foul plays by people, that I want to play it as safe as possible.

Price ?
My normal way is use a paypal account created for that domain. Use the money Soon, and when you do the sale, cancel the account.
By the way, i have many of my Medium to High priced domains in moniker, because the escrow service and the extra safest.

Paypal is not so safe, if buyer chargebacks on his credit card, you are screwed, no matter if intangible or not.
Or at least is what i've read before in forums

If the amount is big, you might want to ask the person to wire it over to you.

The cleanest way is to use a service like escrow.com. The fees are minimal and the service takes all the risk out of it. Barring that, you own the domain and they want it. If you're comfortable with Western Union, then use Western Union. Put a formal agreement in place to protect both the buyer and you, and you're all set.

If the price is high you can use escrow, otherwise Paypal or Moneybookers is the best option. People withdraw money from Moneybookers to their bank account in India and chargebacks are not very common.

I can't provide any links but there have been some incidents with escrow.com where after the domains has been pushed, the buyer claimed he never received the domain and got refunded. Moniker escrow is safer because they wait until they have both the money and domain in their hands before releasing to the buyer and seller. It's 1 additional step, but safer.

Thanks for all the suggestions, I liked the Moniker escrow to be a good one, it seems I need to study it more.

I've used sedo escrow service in the past, i found it reliable, sedo asked me for the auth code and sent me the money when the transfer ended.
