Which OS for running a Java server?

I am making an online game and I'm wondering which OS would be the better choice to run my server (written in Java) under.

You can use almost any OS. Java is supported on Solaris, Linux, and Windows by Sun but there is also support for others.

Yup, I agree with vselvara.

I believe a major selling point of Java is that it's cross platform.

Both are equally good, it depends on which OS you are more comfortable with.

Unless you need something that only works on Windows, linux is the choice.
