I'd say you got in on a pretty darn good price mistake. Theirs nothing the site can do about it either other than eat the mistake and ship you the product, if they don't you can sue them for just about everything their worth.

They have changed all there prices back to the correct amount. Now what I need to know is:

I have received a receipt from Worldpay and they have taken the money as well.

So is this a legal and binding contract and do they have to sell the goods at this price as advertised.

    Any comments.

I know in the US that if this happened, they would be *required* to ship you the product. If they dont ship it, you could sue for "False Advertising".

I bout something at a sale price that wasnt supposed to be on-sale. What made it better, I had a special certificate to get it. Since it wasnt technically on sale, I could use my certificate... So I had like a 55% discount

But your milage my vary, some exclusions may apply, not available in all areas, etc.

    Holy isht!

A friend of mine has one of those and he offered it to me for $500. I considered buying it, but didn't. If I could get it for $100, I'd have a heart attack.

    Good luck with getting it!

Yup, by all means thats a legally binding contract. I'm not 100% sure about the UK but definately in the US you could sue for failure to provide advertised product and false advertising, so you could easily put someone out of biz with the winnings from a case like that .

I can see it now. wht-bay.com.

Perhaps the moderators should consider a "trading/sales" forum for equipment/random stuff for wht'ers.

The other forums I used to frequent have a "swapon kcgeek" section. Pretty helpful:

Let us know if you actually get the product. In the US, they are legally required too. It is only reasonable for them to send it, if they advertise it and you buy it, you should get it.

I try to get in on these 'deals' when I find them, so here's what I've learned from experience.

If it's a large company and they only sell a few items at the error price, they tend to honor it just because it's less hassle for them that way. If they sell a LOT of items at the error price, especially if it's something really expensive, their response tends to be more of "This price was obviously an error, and we're not going to give it to you at this price whether it's illegal or not -- if you want it so badly, sue us!". It's sad, but it's probably a lot cheaper for them to deal with a couple lawsuits (they'll settle with anyone who sues and give the person the item at the super-low price it was purchased at) than to hand out thousands of laptops for sixty bucks each.

Small companies tend to not give out anything that was sold at an error price no matter what -- they just can't afford it.

I've no idea what this company will do -- but if anyone actually gets some of these laptops, drop me a PM and I'll buy one off you for twice what you paid!

    Apple iMac 800 G4 256/60/SuperDrive 0.01 ???
    EZQuest Cobra 100GB Ext USB 2.0 HDD 0.01 ??
    Canon DM-MV400i Digital Camcorder 0.01 ??

What I saw is that all this items have the "Up avail" icon.

    Probably that's the trick.

They seemed to have changed the error message:

We have temporarily suspended the online payment system for Foris Ltd.
A problem has occurred with the database and product catalogue.
As a result orders cannot proceed to the checkout area.
We are working to resolve this as soon as we can.
    We apologize for any inconvenience.

However, it will be interesting to see whether or not they deliver as advertised. Here in Australia companies are obliged to honor advertised prices (especially once the order has gone through), otherwise it is classified as false advertising.

Congratulations to you lucky people who have ordered if the goods arrive!
