Curl issues - Will pay for resolution!
Okay, I'm having a serious issue with Curl (apparently) which is causing me a major headache... my server support company (serverwizards) apparently don't have the faintest idea what to do. The issue is this.
My billing software (WHMCS) needs to access the WHMCS server to verify my licence, however curl is failing to connect to the external server:
WHMCS runs run the following .php file
<?php
$url = "http://www.whmcs.com/";
$ch = curl_init();
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_URL, $url);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_POST, 1);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_TIMEOUT, 10);
curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, 1);
$data = curl_exec($ch);
if (curl_error($ch)) {
echo "ERROR ".curl_error($ch);
} else {
echo "SUCCESS";
}
curl_close($ch);
if ($showdata) {
echo "<textarea rows=\"20\" cols=\"120\">$data</textarea>";
}
?>
And http://www.shed49.com/billing/whmcs/...?showdata=true gives:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<HTML><HEAD>
<TITLE>404 Not Found</TITLE>
</HEAD><BODY>
<H1>Not Found</H1>
The requested URL / was not found on this server.<P>
<P>Additionally, a 404 Not Found
error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
</BODY></HTML>
The server evidently has a problem with CURL. It's not working at all - a regular curl connection to external page doesn't work. The curl connection isn't failing like would happen when curl isn't working but instead it just doesn't seem to be requesting the right URL resulting in a 404 error.
I am desperate and at this point will happily pay an 'expert' for a resolution to this.
Thanks in advance

Resolved.
Turns out this was due to a test account created by WHMCS support which was using the same domain name as curl was trying to connect to. To their credit serverwizards identified and have now resolved this.
Thanks for the offers of help!
