Compare CPU Opteron 170 VS P4 2.8

Is Opteron 170 a lot faster than P4 2.8?

Thanks

Yes, a LOT faster. it is a dual core vs. a single core processor, you're going to get nearly twice the processing power out of the Opteron 170.

Even if that P4 is a dual core, the opteron will still smoke it hands down.

It's a pentium 4 so I'm guessing its not dual core, otherwise it would be a pentium D.

Either way, one core of the 170 would be faster than the P4 IMO.
