Plans similar to Trexhost?
Hi all,
I'm currently a Trexhost customer, and for the most part am satisfied with their service. I'm currently looking for another that offers similar plans / service to Trexhost - what would you suggest?
Thanks

You would stay with them when you're satisfied with the service in overall.
If you refer to similar plans in terms of resource & price, i saw MKOH offers plans with more resources and cheaper price in the offer forum.

If you don't want "all of your eggs in the same basket" so to speak, you might ask your provider for a discount on a separate reseller account on a different server (Unless your goal is to be hosted with 2 separate companies, then I can see why you'd be looking for a "similar" company).
Best of luck in your search.

thanks for the input folks - to answer some questions, I'm definitely looking for more than 1 host to ensure i don't have everything together.
I've only been with them for 3 months so I can't give a good review just yet - service is spotty - that is, at times they respond immediately, and others, they take days. James is a good guy.
My only real issue is that they're having trouble transferring a large (10 gig) cpanel account from burst.net while burst doesn't see an issue with transferring it. Unfortunately, that one account is very important to me, so it may very well be the reason I switch to another host.
So, my verdict on Trexhost thus far is a 'wait and see' - definitely not bad though.

I'm not sure where the source of this transfer is coming from, burstnet, etc, however, I can confirm while trying to get this 10GB backup from that server over to ours, we've yet to be successful on it. If you would like to once again provide the login details to that previous web hosting provider, we would be more then happy to attempt this again. We've proved to go beyond support with you in many cases, I apologize that in this one case, were having issues with the file getting over to us.

Our support request reply is usually immediate, it's what we try our hardest to meet and reach on a daily basis. Sometimes things get backed up as with any company. In your case however, the days your referring to were when trying to get a 10GB file from a host that had very slow response times, and there servers overloading when trying to generate the 10GB backup (which is understandable on there part). Thank you as always for choosing Trexhost.com. We want to make sure your nothing short of happy here, so I would love to hear from you again,
James

Hi James, I've been in touch with someone from Trexhost about transferring the account over. It's in the support system already. Please do the transfer and let me know when it's completed.

10 gigs is a pretty big account for cPanel to zip up. Before TrexHost can transfer it, the old host's server has to be able to compress it. If the old host is having problems doing this, then there is nothing TrexHost can do, short of transferring files manually, which could prove to be a pretty big job if your account is 10 gigs in size.

The old host has verified that the zipped backup files are all intact and ready for transfer.

Perfect, then lets get ready to roll this out for you. We will keep you updated, if they have not already. Thank you

Then it won't be a big deal to get it restored. It may take time depending upon the server performance.
Good luck.

That to me would be my major concern. While three months is not a large time frame it's enough to get a feel for a host. If you're fine with this level of service then you should stick with them since I don't think you'll find another host offering better service with those specs.
