I was trying to search for "Shared IP Address" the other day, and received the following message/error:

The search term you specified (ip) is under the minimum word length (3) and therefore will not be found. Please make this term longer.
If this term contains a wildcard, please make this term more specific.
I also typed in "Internet Protocol" instead of "IP" but received very few matches, as most people tend to use just the term "IP."

Is this a default setting on vBulletin's software? - Or is there some reason why a minimum 3 character phrase search has been set?

You can put the number down to 2 character limit, but you have to reindex the entire board...

Which on this site, can take hours

Its just how vB does its searching, and why its so fast, it doesn't actually search posts, it has a search index with words in it..

The smallest word is 3 characters long....

Just put the plus sign between words, but there might be better ways?
