And what sort of career path is a moderator? Is that one of those dudes who likes to control off topic conversations and delete threads without warning?

It's someone who keeps order and helps conversations move in a positive direction where possible, deleting where it isn't.

Me too. I thought WHT established a policy years ago that none of the moderators had the ability to delete anything, just move it to the Thrown Threads forum. Did something change?

The soft-delete option with vBulletin makes moving posts to a separate forum obsolete.

They're still held in the db and still searchable. They're just not viewable to the general public.

Threads, on the other hand, are still moved.
