Hello all,
We recently acquired a LT server with the following specs:
OS: CentOS 4.4 64-Bit
RAM: 1 GB
Hardware: AMD 64 Athlon 4000/1024MB/160GB SATA
We're having issues with cpu/ram usage and need someone capable of taking a look and getting things sorted. Here's a quote from an LT tech:
Quote:
Hello,
The httpd (Apache) service on your server is consumming too much CPU
time and memory:
-------------------------------------------------
Cpu(s): 29.7% us, 4.0% sy, 0.0% ni, 65.8% id, 0.3% wa, 0.0% hi, 0.2% si
Mem: 961792k total, 777348k used, 184444k free, 4636k buffers
Swap: 1927792k total, 202324k used, 1725468k free, 111600k cached
PID USER PR NI VIRT RES SHR S %CPU %MEM TIME+ COMMAND
13114 nobody 17 0 118m 30m 2808 S 43 3.2 0:03.00 httpd
13111 nobody 15 0 105m 17m 2728 S 5 1.9 0:01.22 httpd
13128 nobody 16 0 116m 28m 2748 S 4 3.0 0:01.90 httpd
3542 mysql 15 0 202m 36m 2328 S 4 3.8 15:36.26 mysqld
13095 nobody 15 0 118m 30m 2804 S 2 3.2 0:02.12 httpd
13108 nobody 15 0 117m 29m 2740 S 2 3.1 0:03.07 httpd
13137 nobody 15 0 118m 30m 2848 S 2 3.2 0:01.94 httpd
-------------------------------------------------
Notice 43% CPU usage by the 1st httpd process, and the available physical
ram drops to around 18 kb. I would recommend upgrading the ram to have more
available to resolve the ram issue, as for the excessive load on the CPU,
you could upgrade to a faster platform or investigate what httpd process
is tying up your CPU/ram.

We were on a VPS before with half of the system resources and never had a problem. So we're a bit bewildered.
