Huge problems with bandwith usage

One of my client, had a small bandwith usage, thoe they have about 9 emails.

Short while ago they started to sudenly usage humongas amounts of bandwith 13G in 5 days.

I checked with my hosting provider, he sad its all ok on our servers, they scaned ther comp for viruses trojans etc. and its also ok, and all trafic goes in, directly on there mail (pop, smtp)

I use cpanel, this is urgent since if they keep it up, its will fill up my bandwith fast, and i have about 20 websites which will all go down.

If he turns down his comps, the traffic stops, the problem is he has outlook instaled on almost every computer. Plz heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelp!!!!

hmm... i'm no expert but having outlook up for most users is not going to use 13G of bandwidth that fast.

Are you positive this person is not hosting illegal material? Like e-mailing MP3s and movies back and forth?

It is possible if you have access to WHM (which you probably do if this is a reseller account).

However, it is highly unethical.

This is quite odd indeed, do you have access to server access logs of some sorts? Perhaps you could get someone experienced, or if you know how to analyze them to try and find the root of the problem there. I still cannot see how Outlook could be responsible for such high usage.

Since this is the Dedicated Server forum, I assume you are running a dedicated server. In that case, I suggest hiring a competent server administrator who can manage your server and also diagnose issues such as this. There's definitely a gaping hole in server management coverage here.

Well the thing is that i doubt its outlook, since the traffic stops when he shuts down his comp, so i could be a virus of somekind that sends mails on serten time period and i persume it should be very short interval

My plan is to go there and install somekind of softwere whith whitch i will monitor the trafic.

Since this problem occure only when his comp is on, i doubpt it could e connected with our servers

But i would realy aprriciate to get a reply with some suggestions
