i was just reading the webhost industry review, on page 52 it says that california has a concentration of 55.41% of all hosted domains... anyone know why this is? is CA cheaper to host at or something? i would of assumed more would be central US

My only guess would be that California is a popular DC location for Asian countries (Good pings from China, Japan, etc)

big datacenters. but also, international traffic is good.

In the U.S. I'd imagine that's a shifting number and that slowly it'll be moving to Dallas. That's the ideal location for national traffic because it's not only centered geographically, but the seismic activity and other natural disasters is really limited there.
