Selling Web Hosting Demo Site - OnlyDemos.com

Hi,

I've been creating custom web hosting tutorials for years but I am now changing to a new job so I am ready to sell www.onlydemos.com.

You will receive all of the tutorials in RoboDemo 5 format. You will also receive ownership of the domain and all content. I will tell you where I advertise to generate up to $1400/month with very little work. You will need a copy of RoboDemo 5 to be able to add logos to the tutorials when an order is placed. You will also want to buy a small automation program that allows you to create the tutorials automatically (once you set it up). This allows you to create a set of tutorials with about 5 minutes of work.

I have not done much advertising in many, many months but do get a few sales every month with no advertising. Once you continue to advertise on a consistent basis you will generate more revenue. Currently, the site is a PR5 and received an average of 120 visitors per day in July.

I am open to all offers. Since the site makes about $300/month with no advertising and has consistently made between $800 and $1400/month with advertising (my highest month was about $1900) I'm hoping to get offers above $2,000.

Please review the website to see all of the tutorials that come with the sale. You can email me at sales at only demos dot com.

Thanks

How much of that $300 income 'without advertising' is gained from the text link adverts you have at the bottom left and along the footer and how much from actual sales of your product?

And how often have you been writing new tutorials?

If what you're saying is correct and you've written all demos, does all copyright transfer in the sale to the new owner?

Can you please run through the following:

How do you take the order and payment (Cart with paypal etc)?
Do you then have to manually setup the download/order?
How long is the turnaround from client ordering to receiving their goods?

Do you have a BIN price in mind or are you opening offers for a set time to see what you get?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Netcomm

All of the links (except one) are to my own websites and do not generate any revenue. One of the links "was" a paid link but I never took it off. You can remove all links and put your own links up and charge whatever you want so that can be an extra source of revenue. The home page is a PR 5 and most of the inside pages are PR4.

I have not written any new tutorials in a long time but most of the tutorials are still accurate and will guide users through the processes they need. I also have a set of Plesk tutorials that I never finished (I think there are 20). Those are included as well but I don't have them on the site yet. They just need to have the text edited (I hired someone to create them and their english was not perfect).

The site comes with a license of PHPCart (I own phpcart.net and it's for sale as well) and I take orders via paypal or authorize.net. PHPCart supports about 15 different payment gateways. You can use your own order system if you prefer. Once an order is placed and payment is received the customer emails me a logo (400x300 jpg or gif). I then use Robodemo 5 (you can convert the tutorials to captiva if you want) and a windows batch program to automatically add the logo to each set of tutorials. This takes less than 5 minutes to set up. I then zip up the files and create a separate ftp account for the customer and upload the files. This takes another 5 minutes. It would probably be faster to just password-protect the zipped file and upload the files to a generic ftp account on your site.

I purchased OnlyDemos several years ago and purchased all rights and scripts, etc. I am selling the same. I will transfer all rights and copyrights to the new owner. I have never allowed anyone to have the original robodemo files and never released a version that was unbranded (I suggest you don't either).

When I was actively running the site and advertising on forums and wasn't so busy I would usually get the tutorials out that day or the next day. It really only takes about 10 minutes of my time to do a complete set of tutorials and upload them. The process to create the tutorials takes about 20 minutes per set but it runs with a batch process so I just let it run until done. If you sell a bundled set it only takes about 10 more minutes since all you have to do is script the additional sets to run. It takes about 1 hour to let the computer run the automated scripts to create a bundle.

Since I am confident that the site can make a minimum of $800/month just by posting on 5 or 10 forums on a weekly basis I'd like to try to get $4,000 so I will set a BIN of $4000. Otherwise, I will take offers over $2,000 and see how it goes. Contact me if you have a price in mind.

Please let me know if you need any additional information.

Thanks

Fair enough on the links. SO that means the current average of $300/month income is from sales only then.

Do the Plesk tutorials come with the sale and in what state of preparation are they? What is actually required to complete them in the way of editing text?

Does the Windows batch program and all the tools required come with the sale? I think you mentioned Robodemo 5 doesn't at least.

So no-one else has access to these products(tutorials) and no-one else can sell them or has any copyright claim to them, not even the previous owner?

Regarding the BIN price, my concern is how often these will need to be updated and if the CP owners make changes how will that affect these demos....

Paul

Yes, I never got into selling links, just one a long time ago and that expired a long time ago. All revenue is just from selling the existing tutorials with the logo branding. I did get a few inquiries from time-to-time about making custom tutorials and I did make a set of custom tutorials for someone for $900 but it was too time-consuming for me to create them so I really never focused on that and always bid way to high on any other requests. You may be able to create new custom tutorials faster and more efficiently than I so you may be able to generate additional revenue that way as well. Plus, you can sell links.

The batch tool is called WinBatch and is located at winbatch.com. You will need to purchase a copy (you can download the trial for a month as well). If I can transfer the robodemo license legally then I will do it (I have no use for it anymore) but otherwise you will need to purchase your own copy of robodemo or captiva. You will need web hosting for the site and a place to upload the files via ftp so your clients can download them. They won't be happy receiving a 40MB attachment via email. That's all you really need. No other programs.

The plesk tutorials just need to have the text edited because some of the phrasing is not "good english". You can do that from within robodemo or captiva.

All rights were transferred to me and the previous owner is a very respectible member of this community. There might be an old thread on this forum on the previous sale so you can do some research to find the previous owner if you need to.

I can't say how often they will need to be updated. I have not had any complaints about the current versions but you may want to add more popular registrars to expand the dns section or add more ftp clients over time.

Thanks

Hi Jondolar

I am interested but can you please check ref the license for batching the scripts etc if they can be transferred as that obviously gives a hefty cost increase to any purchase.

thanks

Hi, you will need to purchase the license yourself. Please factor that in with the total cost.

You will make it up the first month.
