Question

running windows 2003 web and vmware 1.0

Hi all,
I currently have an ubuntu box at work running vmserver 1.0 (the now open source version). Running both windows and linux vps`s Has any one installed this in a hosting enviroment and installed a windows vps with plesk and a linux vps with cpanel? suppose you could run a few of them?
Just a thought, i know it would have to be a pretty beefy server!!

Hi!

It's very possible and easy to do, I have done something a lot like that. You could run 2 maybe 3 VM's, and you would a lot of memory, I'd say at least 4Gb, maybe even more than that. Remember if your ran 3 Vm's you would have 4 OS's running, and windows takes extra memory. You would basically have 4 servers in one, and you would definitely need a beefy server.

You're welcome, yes I have done it before, but I didn't install any control panels, although it should able to do that fine. Basically, what you are talking about is the same thing as a VPS, because each of the Vm's are private. If I were you, I would set up the vmware and everything and get trail licenses of different control panels, and try to make it work, you can try it without spending money.
