Polishing up Flash, Photoshop Skills
Hey there everyone,
I been using adobe photoshop and macromedia flash for a little over 2 years. I know the basic stuff with each programs.
can anyone tell me how i can polish up my photoshop and flash skills?
I've seen this really nice website, it really blows me away. I have alot of good ideas, but just that I can't lay it down and execute the graphics and animation that I would like to do!
http://www.shadowness.com/portfolio.html
I give props to whoever designed this site. Very nicely done.
Can anyone tell me where I can go to learn these advance techniques? Any good books, websites or even videos on how to learn intermediate-advanced photoshop and flash?
Since I'm on the topic... how about dreamweaver also?
Thanks everyone!

Does anyone have any good Flash Tutorial sites?
I mean do most of the people on here usually just learn off tutorial sites or do they learn somewhere else like books n stuff?
Any good videos to watch on this topic?

...if you've been using them both for over two years, you should know that the tutorials and help files included with the programs are advanced enough to accomplish just about anything you want to do...
...I just replied to the post at which you asked:"Also adding to my other post, can anyone provide me with some good web designing tutorials with dreamweaver? I know I might get laughed at, but can anyone tell me what is the meaning of how alot of web designers who make Interfaces, and why they cut up and splice the images into tables? Also where can I learn how splice images and integrate it into tables?"
Something about your questions don't make sense. No one using Photoshop and Flash over two years would ask questions reflecting such limited knowledge of the basics unless they have copies of the programs that don't include the help files, have never visited the Adobe or Macromedia sites, and have never typed the words "Photoshop tutorials" or "Flash tutorials" in Google's search box.
Suddenly, I suspect some kind of dishonesty in your intentions...Mothers of the world unite! Spank your sons and make them quit fighting...

Yes I been using it, for over two years, on and off. I havent' really stuck with it consistently all the way through the two years.
Why are you going overboard about suspecting some kind of dishonesty. I didnt come on this board to get flamed, all I wanted was some information. Well sorry if i'm not as advanced as you are.
I'm not a regular web designer that designs websites all day long and design websites for clients on a regular basis. But perhaps sometime in the future that would be great, but right now I'm taking the learning the steps slowly to get where I want to go.
Sorry if you thought I was going to do something bad like destroy earth or something with my bad intentions

Hi baldyguy.
I've been working with Flash for two years now, and I have some links that I think you might find interesting.
If you have any questions, please ask

You're welcome...
I don't feel I'm going "overboard", nor am I flaming you... I am expressing simple questions I have based on your posts... if you feel flamed, apologies...
The main question that enters my mind is, "if this guy has these programs, why is he asking questions already answered in the help files?" I don't mind helping people, but don't like being used and don't have much respect for lazy people who don't use what they have right in front of them before asking someone to do the work for them...
ALERT! I am not saying you are lazy... it is a general statement...
This is the last I will say about this, and the last I will offer in the way of help to you... besides not addressing my legitimate questions about your use of the help files with these programs, your response has made me concerned I might offend you...Mothers of the world unite! Sorry for being obvious but both http://www.adobe.com and http://www.macromedia.com are good places to look. In particular go to the exchanges on each site. A lot of the dreamweaver, fireworks, photoshop and Illustrator files on offer there have a link back to the site of the submitter. Usually, if you find something at the exchanges you really like the submitter's own website has more, as well as tutorials.
I assume you have the manuals that came with the program when you bought it so reading through it is a great place to start with the back of the book showing a lot of the more advanced features. However they only go so far and many of the tutorial sites listed above are very good.

Once you learn the basics-mid skills, then your off on your own. Its not how many tutorial you know how to do, its really comes down to how creative your mind is.
Thats my 2 food tokens.

thanks for the links -0 i also have been "using" photoshop for about 2 or 3 years and flash (more recently).. im a decently well versed pshop user but im not a wizkid with it and tutorials do help even people who have been using it for awhile.. unlike some who (i suspect) use it for work or took classes to get their initial chops, you learn things differently when you just buy it and try to give it a go..
thanks again for the great links!

I joined this 2 years ago. With your membership, you get a great magazine that has samples and tutorials in it, plus access to all kinds of free demos and downloads.
Plus you get to use their logo on your resume and get a cool membership card.
I highly recommend it.Iveka, LLC

I would also like some links for more Photoshop tutorials. I have not taken Photoshop seriously. I want to get serious about it now so I can get myself some work.
Those ones posted look good but I want alot more tutorials. maybe geared towards beginers? Also I remember sound really good photoshop sites I saw a few years ago, but can't remember them.
Thanks

Mac-Write,
I just realized that I didn't include a link to my Photoshop links. These include mostly tutorials.
My Photoshop links
Hope that will help a little.
