I Need Recommendations per My Usage

Hello,

This is my first post on WHT, and I hope to stay for a long time to come.
I am currently with WebKore, on their shared, but I'm looking for something more.

My site seems to be quite slow at peak times because it is on shared.
I believe a VPS or Semi-Dedicated would be the best way to go.
I don't have too much to spend and I will post my usages below.

I run vBulletin 3.6.7, and at high peak times around 80 users are online, but that can drop to 30 at low periods.

As I said, I would think that VPS would be the way to go..
I have around 20-25USD to spend per month (maybe if you can assist me in finding an offer/promotion..)

I would need DirectAdmin included and preferably Fully-Managed.
I wouldn't be hosting any other sites, apart from my one with vBulletin.
It is a low budget, but if you can't find a VPS, maybe Semi-Dedicated or a flexible shared package..

Thanks for your help guys.

-Mike

You might want to stick with reseller hosting. I don't think you will find a fully managed VPS with a DirectAdmin license for your budget.

A vBulletin with 80 users online at peak times, won't be able to stay in a $25 VPS. You should consider spending around $40.

You need 384 MB ram with 1 GB burstable, 1.5 GB preferred.

As others have stated your budget is low for a managed VPS. At your size forum I would second the rec for a reseller account on a very good host. I've have forums that peaks at just a bit over 150 concurrent users on a reseller with no issues, but on the wrong reseller I could barely keep 50 going.

Now I'm not an expert but how big a VPS you'll need (if you go that route) will depend on what else you'll be running off this, number of other accounts (if any), if you'll need a control panel, etc...

VB normally needs about 256MB ram to handle 100 concurrent users (thats a rough guide) and then you have to add everything else that will use up memory.

I'm not really big on depending on burstable for your everyday resource needs.

Ok, I've decided I won't go with a VPS then.
You mention a good Reseller.

Could anyone recommend me a reseller?
I notice my forums are sluggish with 70 users online at the moment so time is of the essence.
I would ask for 40GB Bandwidth as a guideline.

You may consider JaguarPC semi-dedicated packages. I never used that package, but JaguarPC has a reputable service for VPSs (and I used many VPSs with them, still two are active).

Their semi-dedicated shouldn't be too bad.
