    i love it! my opinion on the logo thing with text doesn't go with the design (blue design). i don't know where i would put it though.

    Its about 100k huh? Seems a little excessive for a pointless splash page. Considering only about 15% of users have broadband you may be losing potential traffic of those who dont have the patience to wait for the graphics to load.

    Why not let them get straight to the content?

    Normally, I could completely agree with you, but in the case of a graphic design site, quality is everything.

    If hes optimized it to its fullest, I'd be happy with 100K, even on the old 56K I use at the cottage.

    On the other hand, I try to keep my slash pages (when I do similar sites to about 70K).
