Crappy Namecheap Customer Service
I've been using Namecheap for a little while now. Have been happy with them most of the time, but now I think I'm going to drop them. We currently have a small amount of personal domain names with them (25). Haven't had any major problems with them so far. BUT I now want to register in excess of 60 domains for a client for 10 years each. I would like to secure some kind of discount for this client. And the client is chomping at the bit because these are their legal trademarks. I have emailed Namecheap multiple times, since June 19th on my side of the world (it's now June 22nd here), and have gotten no response RE discounts and got minimal to no information regarding other questions I had for him, other than some guy Jerry saying he would forward my request to upper management. That's it. WTF? I even told him that this client will go elsewhere. He doesn't care. He simply ignores my emails. I've now been forced to contact GoDaddy to see what kind of discount they could offer simply because Namecheap doesn't seem to give a rat's @ss about the thousands of dollars these people want to spend. Obviously they are not going to care much about my piddly amount of domains I have personally either if they can afford to flush this amount of money down the toilet. Nice going Namecheap. You just threw away a long term, multi-million dollar client. And thanks, Jerry, for your stellar customer support. I hope you get the promotion you deserve for this. With this crap customer service, I can't see myself recommending Namecheap ever again. And I obviously have to start searching for another registrar for our own domains.

Sorry to hear about your customer support at NameCheap. It has been spotty at best recently, from reports we've seen here.
GoDaddy pricing for 50+ domains for 10 years is $6.75+$0.22=$6.97/domain. This will automatically be applied if you reg them all at once for 10 years. So go ahead and reg them now. You can worry about if they're the right registrar, or not, for you later.

Contact Moniker (I don't remember their dnf username) and they will probably work a great deal for you.
Plus they're one of the very best registrars available.
Please don't use GoCrappy, their support doesn't have a clue as to what's going on and loves form replies even when they don't apply.

I've used namecheap since the beginning of time, i've always been impressed with their service.
I havent had any of these problems that other people are experiencing.
As far as i know i think some namecheap employees browse these forums.

That's not much of a discount for the amount of money they are wanting to spend. They don't want to register just .com's and .net's There are also the co.uk, .us, .eu, etc. I think they're going to have to do better than that, quite honestly. That's the equivalent of registering more than 600 domains separately. And worrying about whether or not they are the right registrar later is not the smartest move. Better to consider that before there are ever any problems, as in RegisterFly's case. As I said, these are the company's trademarks. And unless I want to get lynched in the future, this is something to consider carefully. I'm still researching and emailing other registrar's about discounts. Can anybody else suggest a reputable registrar with better customer service than Namecheap currently has (and with decent discounts)? I need to contact them asap. Thanks :-)

That's good, then they can take a look at what they are about to lose due to their incompetence. Bloody foolish on their part. Less time browsing forums and more time emailing customers back with some good solid answers might be a good start in making them some more cash.

I think you are over-worrying. Whilst you are waiting to find the best or cheapest registrar (how long is that going to take) these domains could be taken by somebody else. GoDaddy, generally have around the cheapest registrations for every .tld. So if you are wanting to do this "on the cheap", they are a good one-stop shop. You can always transfer them out later. which would probably be recommended for any multi-million dollar company. If you really want to do this properly whatever the expense, then I'd suggest MarkMonitor is a good solution, but they ain't cheap.
Other choices would be NetworkSolutions or eNom.
Cheap and quality are oxymorons.

UPDATE: I never did hear back from Jerry again, but a support guy named Michael finally got back to me tonight - actually called me on the other side of the world. After several disconnections due to crappy Indonesian phone lines, we got something worked out that will make the client happy and has made me happy. And they cut me and the client a far better deal than GoDaddy. It shouldn't have taken 3 days though. That really fried my biscuit. Jerry should take up some beginners customer service classes. Anyways, thanks, Michael. The client isn't going to go anywhere in the next 10 years.

Don't go cheap and try and save a buck with important trademarks.
Judging by forum posts Namecheap support seems to be overwhelmed at the moment and I suspect are focusing on existing customer issues as opposed to pre-sales questions.
GoDaddy has good bulk rates ($6.75)- not sure how they could go any lower.
