Namecheap ICANN accreditation?

This is just a post out of curiosity, really. I'm very satisfied with Namecheap - good to find a decent registrar at last!

I heard a loooong time ago that they were going to get ICANN accreditation instead of just being an eNom reseller. This doesn't appear to have happened, will it ever happen? enetwork?

I dont know,. Have sense, anyway. ICANN fees are cheap for them, 2500 USD for trying be acredittedm, and 4000 USD YEARLY.

I think they bought out an accredited registrar. But I think they watched the breakup of Registerfly/eNom very carefully and will try not to make the same mistakes. Since the breakup of Registerfly, ICANN are also considering the practice of simply buying a registrar in order to become accredited. Which is what Registerfly did, apparently.

RegistrarEngine.com will have a site up within a few days. Stu, you are slated for beta as requested.

We're almost there.

Hello Licantropo,

RegistrarEngine.com is a LogicBoxes type solution.

Our API is being integrated into and will be released with the new ModernBill release.

If you are interested in testing our API I can definitely include you in beta.

Hi Richard,

What exactly registrarengine.com for? is it just resellers API solution website or a successor for namecheap?

Marty

p/s: I have two namecheap accounts with small numbers of domains each - i don't mind being a help or beta tester for your development. ehehe.
