Hello,

After hours of searching and troubleshooting with no luck, I hope someone could give me some assistance with my issue.

I have a CentOS 4 server running a Postfix/Courier setup which has been working flawlessly for months. However, just a few days ago, it seems to have stopped. Here's the errors in my maillog:

postfix/smtpd[8348]: fatal: unsupported dictionary type: mysql
postfix/master[8304]: warning: process /usr/libexec/postfix/smtpd pid 8348 exit status 1
postfix/master[8304]: warning: /usr/libexec/postfix/smtpd: bad command startup -- throttling
postfix/cleanup[8355]: fatal: unsupported dictionary type: mysql
postfix/qmgr[8356]: fatal: unsupported dictionary type: mysql
postfix/master[8304]: warning: process /usr/libexec/postfix/cleanup pid 8355 exit status 1
postfix/master[8304]: warning: /usr/libexec/postfix/cleanup: bad command startup -- throttling
postfix/master[8304]: warning: process /usr/libexec/postfix/qmgr pid 8356 exit status 1

Sounds like you may have been compromised. Are you on any IM client?

Still no luck fixing this issue. However, after recompiling postfix with mysql support the error has changed to:

warning: SASL PLAIN authentication failed
warning: SASL LOGIN authentication failed

If anyone has some insight on or can resolve this I can send payment immediately via paypal.

Lets go through a few simple steps first before jumping into the water. Comment out smtpd_sasl_local_domain in main.cf or use a FQDN.Do you have sasl compiled? (Simple Authentication and Security Layer (SASL) library.). These are only a few things I can recommend without ssh access. nwmcsween|at|gmail.com
