Question What resolution do you use?

What screen resolution do you use? People say that 800x600 is the most used, but most people that I know use 1024x768. I use it too.

The same thing I'm using every two weeks when this same question is asked...

1024x768 because my 13" monitor can't go any higher.

Just a thought... I don't think the results of this poll will be very helpful -- most of the users here are computer professionals and thus have better equipment than the general population... WHT does not represent all computer users very well at all

I agree and disagree at the same time. I think most people dont have sucky old machines. I got a very old computer and a very old monitor here and the resolutions is 1024x768. 800x600 hurts my eyes. It's just too big.

I use 1024x768 on my 15'1" (TFT Flatscreen). I want a bigger screen so I can use a higher resolution.

typically, i use 1600x1200. however, the pins on my monitor cord are messed up, and until i get a new monitor cord i'm using a backup monitor, which can only do 1024x768

800x600 on a 17" monitor - I use this because this is what most sites are designed for, besides 640x480. AOL uses 750 width tables these days and so do most major sites. It used to be 600 width until earlier this year. Very few large portals use 100% width tables.

That's on a 17" monitor. I'd go up 1280x1024 but the refresh rate would be too low. I can't stand anything under 85hz.

I, too, use 800x600 on a 19" monitor hooked up to a WinPC. It makes it easy to read stuff. I do have 1024 x 768 on my Macs, though.
