Entry-Level Support (Free)

Hello,

Well, there is a post very similar to this not too far down the page. However, it's still worth posting.

I've been in the hosting-related industry for over 5 years. However, never worked for or owned a hosting company. But, I'd like to learn some things about support.

I'm looking for a company to let me look over their current and past support tickets so that I can learn solutions to common (or uncommon) problems that customers may have with hosting.

Obviously, I will not just sit there and do nothing. When I learn the solution to a problem, I would diagnose the problem if a new ticket is opened. However, I'd like to learn more about the hosting support field.

I would like to clarify that I'm not looking for a company to learn from and leave. Maybe some sort of "temp to hire" position. At first I will work for nothing, but as time progresses, it'd be nice to be offered small payment for my volunteer work.

If you have any questions about me, my companies, or anything else - please feel free to ask.

  • Research any provider to know what limits are in place, especially with any offer concerning disk space and/or bandwidth. These are generally defined in the TOS or AUP.
  • Read provider reviews. If you find no reviews, create a thread and ask for others' first-hand experience with the provider.
  • If you're unsure on the exact details of an offer - ask. Simply respond to this thread and ask the provider for clarification.

Hello Ricky,

I would offer you a position at Volt Networks but we get virtually no support requests. At most, we get one or two a week.

If our support requests increase in the future, I will contact you, unless you are interested in starting right away despite the number of inquiries.

Regards,

Volt Networks

Hello,

Well, although I want to review support tickets, and learn more. I do not want to be affiliate with a bad host. So, obviously, I don't want a company that has 100+ support tickets a day

If you don't mind me helping out as much as I can in the support department (no sales - long story, but I don't do hosting sales) then please contact me at rlipe@costeffectent.com with more details. I am willing to answer any questions about myself, or my companies if requested.

I look forward to hearing from you.
