Do I need a dedicated server for this?

I want my web site to interact with a windows program.

Do I need a dedicated windows server? Or can I ftp windows and the windows program to a shared server and control it all through a admin control panel?

Can you suggest a solution and/or sever service provider?

thanks

Depending on the windows app you're talking about it might be possible to use remote procedure calls to control the app but unless you're an experienced programmer you'll have to pay some good money to get that done (hint: don't try to hire the cheapest bid on rent-a-coder type sites). And again, not all windows apps support RPCs. In the long run, if you have to do this, you'll probably save money by hosting on a windows server. Hard to give too much advice without specifics.

You can just purchase Windows shared hosting, which will be alot cheaper compared to actually purchasing a Windows dedicated server. Hope that helps.

You could always go with a Windows VPS server Chris instead of a dedicated server. Not too many shared hosting providers are going to let you run an EXE on their server especially as a service/daemon.
