The most reliable email is http://www.everyone.net
's personal mail... been with that service since 2001/02... never down.
Fusemail is a disaster... don't do it...
google apps, be carefull of the limitation on certain extentions (.exe, etc). I don't like for a company to tell me what can be sent to my email.
Other good service: http://www.webmail.us/
is a good place to discuss email services... but everyone.net is the most reliable... for business mail it can't be beat.... the tuffmail's and fastmails of the world have their loyal bunch, but many times they go down or have issues.
Other than that, I would pick microsoft's live domains http://domains.live.com/
... it is better than google's offering by a long shot... if you can get past the "I hate M$ thing..."
I've used both and still have domains I use everyday with ms and gmail... I like MS live... nice product. Plus, you can use desktop live with MS domains... nice email...
If you don't need a domain, then aol is great... free imap with their service. I also use aol on a daily basis... never any issues so far... been using that since oct 06.
edit: both gmail and MS don't allow for .exe, etc extentions, but at least MS will simply not allow you to download the extention... gmail rejects the message as if you did not have an inbox. That sucks, big time. At least with MS you can see that an email was sent and email the person to upload to a website or send as a zip or something....
