We are in the process of setting up game servers around the world for the launch of one of our new self-published games, anyone have any good providers in Australia or Brazil?

Looking for P4 2.8GHz+ 1GB or ram+ 80GB hd+ Windows 2003

In Brazil try alog.com.br and locawebidc.com.br but expect to pay a lot more than similar servers in US or even Europe.

the only one I can remember in Brazil right now is hostnet.com.br
But like Arrbz said, it's very expensive..
In Rio de Janeiro, a friend of mine is paying somewhat like R$0,55 per kilowatt.. something like USD $0,25...
Bandwidth? ouch.. don't even wanna go there... Oo

Why Brazilian servers? I'm curious!! All of them are very expensive and IMHO are appropriate only for domain names with extension .br, usually Brazilian enterprises (due excessive Brazilian bureaucracy Brazilian entrepreneurs are forced to use domains with .br hosted in Brazilian servers). Want an example? you will pay in $ real the equivalent to $ 950.00 USD monthly per a server that you can rent in USA for $ 80.00 USD monthly (note: this example is an average of many prices in a large range). The most recommended servers are American or Canadian dedis or VPS. (I'm Brazilian, living in Brazil at this time).

Regards

It is very expensive, I have to agree on that...
Federal government is the one to be blamed on this...
Anyways.. I would guess the OP wants a server over there to eliminate lag and stuff... but I think that an american server strategically located in being virtually closer to the main ISPs would solve this problem....

anyways.. I've never ever heard of this thing about having to use .br on brazilian servers... first time...

So, basically you're saying that only companies, or people with access to CNPJ)can have a dedi located in Brazil?

c'ya

Brazil server

Based on our initial sales figures users seem to be buying from Brazil. With the upcoming game we are only allowing play on our hosted servers, thus the desire to have one in Brazil. If however you're in Brazil and know a better South American country where you wouldn't experience a significantly high ping I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks for the suggestions thus far and for the most part they do look very expensive for very little capacity.

Thanks again

If the players are all in Brazil and the server is an authentic Brazilian server (not one rented in USA) yes, you are right. But this is for games only, O.K.? Want a honest comparison? Jump please to Gnax home page and compare the prices between it's Brazilian partners with the prices of it's American partners...Note: usually "Brazilian" web hosting companies are single person or small team that rents a server in USA, then resell shared & VPS at ultra high prices. Authentic Brazilian servers, based in Brazil, SA, are really very expensive. But if anyone is seeking for a Brazilian server reliable, affordable, hacker protected, at honest price we can provide one of our Mac and VPS are also available. Contact us requesting info. We are not the one using Mac for that purposes: rapidvps.com is running one, in Marlin Datacenter. Well: Brazilian servers are fine when it's team is fine, but IMHO I consider that it are fine only for Brazilian people. Rent your Brazilian game server, enjoy it and have fun!

All the best!!
