File Transfer - Gurgaon (India) / New York (USA)

Hello,
Which dedicated hosting provider has the best connectivity to India and US. I need a dedicated server as a file transfer point to serve large files (100Mb - 1Gig) between our offices in Gurgaon (Delhi) and New York(USA).

Also what is the best FTP/ File transfer software that enables multiple connections and resume features?

Thanks
Ashwan.

I would think that a European Hosting Provider may be best for you since the European Continent is between India and the US.

RSYNC, IMHO, would probably be the best platform for file transfers.

I would recommend www.49pence.com, located in London Docklands UK, never personally used them but talked to the people and they seem to be eager to help and they have some pretty nice deals. The connectivity is not bad either.

But if you prefer something more towards the "center" then you can try www.easyspeedy.com (Denmark).

Find you location and run traceroutes multiple times from www.traceroute.org India and US to see which one is preferable.

You don't necessarily need to be in Europe. A provider on the U.S. west coast would probably work out just as well (if not better).

There are very few lines going out from Europe to the east. Almost all Asian traffic is routed over the US. I'm guessing that a westcoast US server with PCCW/Verio bandwidth will do fine for you
