I'm putting out a first beta of Fastdeploy. It is designed to automate operating system installs over the network using PXE. It supports automated installs of:
- CentOS
- RHEL
- Fedora
- Debian
- Ubuntu
- Windows
The interface is web-based, uses PHP/MySQL and requires TFTP and DHCP as any PXE environment would. There are a number of PHP-related dependencies from the PEAR repository and you'll need Smarty also.
Download the script here or
go to the web site to learn more to see if you would be interested in trying it out for your environment. You can see a video demo of the Fastdeploy UI and also a related video demo of the actual automated install running for CentOS across the network.
This is definitely an early beta. You'll spot more than a few bugs--still, don't hesitate to report them
via the web site--but the automated installer process works great. There is at present no installer so the installation and setup has to be done manually.
Preparing the system to automate all OS installs can be a bear, especially around Windows, but feel free to use the forums or contact direct if you need some assistance. There is commercial support available--including full installation services--but I'll be happy to help you get it setup using the forums, email, IM, etc.
