Hi i have seen many websites having their dns name as

NS2.MAINNAMESERVER.COM

What is it as ive seen website after website having this dns name?

Also ive seen similarly NS1.THEDNSZONE.COM NS2.THEDNSZONE.COM ??

These are private nameservers setup by the domain owners. For eg if you have webhostingtalk.com, you can register with the domain registrar nameservers (at least a pair) for eg ns1.webhostingtalk.com or it can be anything ???.webhostingtalk.com, setup an DNS server and you will have your own dns nameservers. Alternatively, I have seen registrars or some hosting companies offering that to customers, but this would be more of a pointing rather than having an actual nameservers.

I think he means literally, that he's seen lots of domains using those particular nameservers that he mentioned.

It would appear they're used by some network companies?
