hello , this is the first time i am doing an ecommerce project .i have configured a shopping cart called shop script - the free version ( not shop script premium).
I would like to know if it is compatible with ccavenue payment gateway and if the integration with the gateway is easy (as paypal does not support indian accounts).
has anyone used it before.

I have never use that script before, what is the website of the developers? they may have the features listed in there.

If you are talking about the script from http://www.shop-script.com then most probably it does not integrate with ccavenue by default, yes you can modify it or you can yourself develop a module for the same (another approach is to talk to the developer to do it for you on payment basis).

Moreover if you are looking a real good cart that integrates well with ccavenue and many others then have look at http://www.cubecart.com I am sure you will be impressed.

I will definitely try cubeart , however ccavenue themselves provide shopping cart
for free if you check out their webiste.

Most probably you won't get an appropriate reply for this one if you mean the cart provided by ccavenue, as I don't think lot of people may have used it.

One point that you must consider is that you should go with a third party cart system, who knows tomorrow you want to switch from ccavenue, a third party system will be supporting many other payment gateways.

Like you can have a look at http://www.ebs.in that is from UTI Bank directly, or you can get payseal from ICICI bank.

Using a third party cart will also provide you the facility of having multiple CC processors (maybe you would like to offer ccavenue+paypal+direct bank transfer or something like that).

And yes FYI Paypal supports Indian accounts (you need to have a valid credit card) and had also started sending you your money via cheque.

If you don't mind can you tell us more on what you will be selling online, so that we can suggest a better solution.

The products that my client needs to sell online are curtains ,voiles, bedsheets etc.there will be around 100 products only.
I have tested shop-script free on my local server and it works absolutely fine.however when it says proceed to checkout it only has paypal configuration, so i guess it can onlu be connected to paypal, however shop-script pro and premium can be connected to ccavenue.

I test this cart before i think it's very good (on localhost) even i think there is resellers selling the premium cheaper than shop-script.com .. try to search
