HOWTO: VoIP whitepaper, answers to a lot of questions from the provider perspective
As do you probably know we develop a VoIP control panel which is designed for ISP/HSP. In the last months a lot of providers started a VoIP business, but even more ask us the same questions every day. VoIP is a new oportunity and there are a lot of questions involved.
In order to make this process easier, we gathered the most common questions and wrote a white paper about VoIP. It answers to the following main issues:
- What is VoIP? VoIP is compared to traditional telephony and various issues are addressed, like voice quality, security, mobility, virtualization, interoperability, etc.
- VoIP Business Opportunities. Business and residential market. Hosted VoIP services opportunity.
- What you need to start a VoIP business. Equipment, software, and costs.
Good read. My only suggestion would be to include more on the customer service and support aspects of VoIP, as that is where the 'rubber meets the road' if you will, much as it is with hosting if not more so simply because you're often dealing with less technically oriented people.
