If there are any questions at all regarding Fastservers.Net, please don't hesitate to ask. Myself and the other various minions will be floating around the boards attempting to answer anything we possibly can.
The new site is quite beta, to be sure....
Lots of work to be done to groom that and actually make it somewhat navigable- heh.
Again, please don't hesitate to ask if there are any questions regarding service. Hopefully we can churn up some decent feedback from individuals as time progresses.
Thank you for your interest!0

What kind of setup time do you have for new servers? The site looks very good, but I like a lot of details -- like prices for upgrades, etc, that I'm currently unable to locate.
I'm a bit curious as well, since it seems you are based in Iowa and the datacenter is in California (although that matters less and less these days), if I call for support I assume it will be in Iowa -- do you have staff I'd be able to speak to who would have physical access to my server?
Thanks!0

BTW, I just went through the order process and saw that I could change different options and do different upgrades (I did not actually place an order)
I found on the last page though, that the terms and conditions link shows up 404 not found...0

(also, I will make sure somebody is in touch regarding the site inconsistencies- appreciate the feedback)
We have staff on the ground in Fremont/SanJose/ the bay area, at all times. Certainly, if you require a staff member on the phone with physical access that can definitely be coordinated.
Home base is in Northeast Iowa, that's exactly right.
We have a fairly cohesive system in place for tying things in instantly with the people on the coast- though I definitely understand your concern.0

BTW
If you'd like we could internally send you some referrals of recently at least halfway pleased customers. We're not going to hold a sword to anyone's head and make them post anything up....
if you have any specific questions, or would like a referall of a pleased fastservers.net customer (gosh, I hope we can find a couple ) , please get in touch with sales@fastservers.net , and they'll be happy to assist!0

You can do anything you'd like on your own dedicated server.
The only things you can't do on your own dedicated environment would be offer services that are illegal.
Otherwise the configuration & choice of software & purpose of the box is entirely in your hands.0

Both.
And colocations- you can send us a box, etc.
But yea, we have people in both unmanaged (the box is entirely in your hands to admin) and managed (our admins are your admins) environments.0

Ordered a Win2K box yesterday.
And they said it will be in the DataCenter later today and setup probably within a day.
Everything is smooth so far and their responses are very quick and friendly.
Will keep you guys posted on my situation.0

We usually disable ICMP on our linux/UNIX servers since that makes them 500% more vulnerable to particular attacks. However, you can definitely test "powersurge.net" , it's in the same building, same connectivity, only a few racks down.
Any questions at all let me know.0

May I get 300gigs metered instead of the 1Mbit burstable and may I enable ICMP ping on my server if I purchase one?
