dsl disconnects when uploading files with any ftp client

So after transfering a few files with my ftp client, I lose my dsl connecion. It happens no matter what ftp client I use and it happens on any server I am uploading my files too.

right now I am currently running on windows xp and I am using Embarq dsl service. I have already contacted them and they said my line is clear. I have tried using both my laptop and my desk top. I have also tried turning off my firewall and keeping my firewall turned on.

Anyone know what could be the problem?

Is it just your dsl connection or the upload connection?

Also, how much are you trying to upload?

I'm thinking it could be the requesting party is killing the connection. I would try from a friends house, if they have a different provider... or trying a different upload site.

Sorry I cannot help more... I'm no expert in this area....

It kills my dsl connection. I have to reconnect it when it happens.

as for how much I am trying to upload; sometimes i can get away with uploading 20 files and then it will die, or i try to upload 3 files and it'll die. As far as I know, it doesnt happen when i use a different provider.

it also doesnt matter what server I am uploading too. it happens on all of them. When I had dial up it did not happen.
