Proposition: Disabled signatures in 'downtime/outages' section

Good morning!

Just my two cents -- I think vultures/signaturechitters have no place in the downtime/outages section. The mods. seem to agree as they always remove most of my posts there.

I think the signatures should be disabled there by default, in all cases to avoid a lot of additional effort for the mods in having to clean it up.

My two cents!

I agree the only point I can think of is that if the effected company posts I normally work out they are the rep is buy their signature so prehaps there needs to be a way to identify who is speaking for the company?

If only those affected posted there, then there would be no need to disable signatures. The announcement in that forum clearly states:

This forum is provided to discuss current outage issues and to allow a way for customers and providers to communicate. Comments by non-customers will be removed. If you are not a current customer, there is no need for you to post. Reviews are only suitable in the appropriate main forum category.

AEM,

Oops, I even missed that note.
I'll go dig for it now and refresh myself on the rules in the meantime.

With that said automatically disabled signatures would at least reduce the 'lure' of posting there, if that makes any sense at all :/
