Hostcentric vs Data Centurion vs ?

I resell hosting, and have used Hostcentric for several years...but have been courted by a very persistent sales person at Data Centurion. I currently resell over 35 sites, and most are just simple brochure-ware type sites with very little traffic.

The two I'm comparing are at:
    http://www.hostcentric.com/Company/R...s_Reseller.asp and http://datacenturion.com/ms-pricing.html

    My questions:
    -------------
Does anyone have experience with Data Centurion or Hostcentric?
How important is having a specific IP address?
(Hostcentric includes this, DC does not -- they do the virtual thing)
I've seen mention recently on list of other hosting companies...any suggestions as to other options?

Things that are important to me: Good server speed, high speed (multiple t-3 or higher), cost (although, like often said you get what you pay for - sometimes), service, some sites have DB - MySql/PHP, and I like the option of a cool customer interface (like DC has).

    Thanks

    Wellington

Personally i don't, but run a search on both of them (using wht search feature), and you find many happy customers of both. Marc is a great guy aswell, he runs mchost.

yes, use cheaper reseller plans and generate more money so you can put it in advertisement and raise your customer base

ps. been with Hostcentric for years - not shared but dedicated servers (years before they merged into HostCentric! Good experience and good service).

    Thumbs up Data Centurion

I've had an account with Data Centurion for almost 9 months now and I have had no problems whatsoever. My sales rep wasn't pushy, but I did know him as a previous sales rep from a different company.

Regarding the Static IP. This isn't necessary to have unless you plan on using SSL with your own digicert. If you don't plan on doing such, don't waste your money for that feature.

    Features I like about DC:
Support for mulltiple languages (PHP, Perl, ASP, ColdFusion)
Shared DigiCert for simple use of SSL
    24/7 Live (person) support
Control Panel with full CHMOD access

    Things I don't like:
The set number of domains per package

Red face At those prices. . .

Why not just go do dedicatednow.com and get a server or hop on over to www.rackshack.com for the same thing ...

You will find the forums over @ rackshack will help you manage your server and many persons are willing to help you as well - - -

furthermore you could save $ doing it that way !
and no worries about if the other company had issues. . .

Your now @ the point where it would be worth getting your own server... 35 accounts - even @ an average of only $5.00 means
your getting at least $175 per month - why pay so much of that out to a server farm - when that server farm is just buying from someone else ... or just being greedy ?

    Just my 2cents...
    need help just hollar -

Hostcentric now (as of closing on June 13th) has the financial backing of Interland; it's parent company. If you are positive on Interland, then it would be a plus for your Hostcentric consideration. Vice-versus applies.

    * There must me a ton of people

There has to be a ton of people using them. I would do a search also and this should bring up what your looking for.

This thread is a year old and the thread starter has probably already made a decision - hence it's closed.

btw, IMO, hostcentric is a SPAM friendly host - i wouldn't be surprised if they had a block or two of IPs on blacklists...
