Poll: US resellers - Incorporated/LLC/Sole Proprietor
US resellers: How are you legally organized ?
Are you a Sole Proprietor, with all the potential liability issues ?
Have you formed a Corporation ?
An LLC ?
A Partnership of some kind ?
What are the pros/cons of each and at what point in your business's growth did you change from one form to another ?Last edited by dreamgear; 07-02-2002 at 09:37 PM.

Mods, if you could delete that extra "Poll:" in the poll title... I'm a newbie at this.

If you are a reseller, I would pretty much say that a Sole Proprietor/Partnership would be the best way to go. As a reseller, you probably won't be making the money to justify forming an Corporation and selling hosting plans for $6 a month just isn't the legal risk that many people believe it is.
An LLC is also an option and is fairly reasonable if you do the paperwork yourself. If you are not familiar with the process, you may need help getting your Tax ID # and filing taxes etc.i beat the internet. the end guy is hard

I'm doing design as well as hosting. Does this change whether you think being a sole proprietor is ok ?
Is there a better forum for designers ?
