Who to choose?

Hello,
I am new to these forums and I have a question. I signed up with Resellerzoom.com and it takes forever to create the account. It took 2 to 3 days for this. Anyway, I decided not to get the failover-1 account with them and wanted something smaller. I am a web designer not a web host and just need a place to put my clients. Anyway, I sent them to cancellation form and have not heard a word from them 24 hours. Is this normal?

Anyway will someone please tell me a GOOD, RELIABLE reseller company to go with besides hostgator or resellerzoom. Someone who is well established and is in it for the long haul or someone who has more then 1 person running the show and has 24 hour tech. support by phone or by live chat. What about httpme.com?

Thank You,
Matt

You might want to post this in the Reseller forum, you will get much better responses there .

Anyways, there are tons of great reseller hosts available. What sort of budget do you have, and what sort of features (if anything specific - ie. cPanel) are you looking for?

Thank you for your responce! Im not looking for any BIG account, I like the specs of the resellerzoom Plan 1 features which is: 8000 MB Space w/ 120 GB Bandwidth. The price for that package is $9.95 per month with is GREAT for me. Cpanel is ok but I love Directadmin with a passion.. But I can deal with cpanel. If I can find someone with these specs and they are reputable with directadmin, I would love it! I think direct admin is simple to use and my customers love it.

Thank You,
Matt

Excellent reputation. Check the reviews here.

Or you could look at Aussie bob's new comapny - Dotable. Also has excellent reviews.

I think they are both WHM/cPanel rather than DirectAdmin though.

Google lists a lot of companies offering DA hosting, you can pick the ones that best suit your needs and then do a search for reviews on them here on WHT.

I do not think you will find a reseller plan with those specs anywhere else for $9.

I agree. So often people always want to seek out a HUGE plan for pennies on the dollar. Then when their hosting company folds up with little or no notice, they wonder why.

The truth is you get what you pay for. If you want someone who will be around for 3+ years and who will answer all your questions within a few hours, rather then days later.

Then my advice would be seek out a real hosting company who offers a 30 money back plan & do not be shy to ask for a demo or even test how fast their support team will reply.

Resellerzoom candidly advises with regard to its budget hosting packages:

Great for low traffic websites with low resource usage requirements
At that price point, you should expect that kind of limitation.

I was a bit confused to why you didn't choose ResellerZoom although their package works great for you -- is there some other reason or are you simply looking to find another host to compare to ResellerZoom?

Actually, I did choose resellerzoom to begin with, but it took soooo long to setup my account, I wasn't sure what was going on. It was 2 days before I got my information in my email. I didnt have 2 days to wait. I have clients who are waiting on me. I thought the signup process was going to be quick but it wasnt. I contacted the live support and all they told me was to email customer service, so I did. No responce for atleast 24 hours. Once I do get a responce back I had to suply them with the last 4 of my CC. So I did and thats the last I heard from them and it's been 3 days. I dont mean to bash on them but if they are this slow with setting up accounts, what is thier support going to be like? And still I have not got a refund back yet from resellerzoom.

Im not looking for a cheap plan. I was looking for a reputable company that was in business for awhile. Price made no differance in my decition. I could have got thier biggest plan but there was no need to at this point in my business.

I chose to go with budgetreseller.com simply because of Greg who is the owner. After speaking with him about what I wanted, He set me up within an hour. Thank you Budgetreseller ( Greg ).

Thank You,
Matt

I've been with Site5 for over a year now. They're doing a great special right now for resellers, 10GB of storage, 2tb of transfer, unlimited domains, WHM/cPanel, and a free ClientExec license for $20/month but you get $100 instant off when you sign up so the first year is only $140.00. Pretty hard to beat that. I've had no problems with them since I'v ebeen using them.

budgetreseller has a great rep from what I can tell. As far as Site5 I'm glad someone has a good experience with them but lately all the reviews I find on them are mostly negative

Agreed. You're going to want to make sure that whatever host you do sign up doesn't impose any resource usage restrictions.

It might a good idea to make a pole about all the resellers in price and quality, service and time of reply (average) so people here can make their choice so much easier.
