I'm interested in registering an ip in my name, in other words modify the ripe information listed so when people do a whois on the ip they get my information rather than my host.

Does anyone know of a host that allows this? If not, how do you recommend going about this ?I dont want to fork out $1,000 (Which is what i heard it would cost).

Unless you're colocating or renting a dedicated server, you're unlikely to get what you want. Same applies if you're going with budget colo/dedicated.

Even if you're colocating, the IP will still most likely be registered in your provider's name.

Depends who your provider is, we follow RIPE guidelines and mark all customer allocations for dedicated servers and and colo.

Some Shared Host Provide Dedicated IP for $2/month but I am not sure it can be possible to make whois info your own with shared hosting. but I think it is possible on Colocation Hosting.
