i have been with powerVPS for over 1 year and have foudn them to be the best arround. Recently i have a client hungry for diskspace , this is where i think SLhost is better.
Any reviews over SLhost will be appreicated.

No personal experience here guys. A search of these forums will yield a lot of reviews. If you are new to searching just use the hostname without the .whatever.

Mustafa, have you used them? Perhaps you can post the domain you have with them if you have.

I have been with PowerVPS - 1 year, good VPS Hosting.
But now, for the same reasons, I am moving my sites to SLHost.

PowerVPS's CPanel VPS's do not have the disk space you require as standard, however you can always add-on the disk space you need. I have been with PowerVPS for about a year now and have always had excellent service and support from them.

I've had powervps for a couple of years with no problem until recently. Sadly I am now looking for another vps company and will probably go with wiredtree.
Powervps is pretty quick about replying to tickets (no complaints there) but they don't set their accounts up properly. I just ordered another and with nothing yet on it, it exceeds memory allocation and services are constantly needing to be reset. It has driven me up the wall.
At this point I can't recommend powervps.

I find that hard to believe. You could be right though, but it could also be due to miscommunication or config error which happens at times.
The difference between excellent and shoddy support is the great lengths to which the provider is willing to go to resolve a problem. For that so far, I would recommend Powervps. I've no experience with SLHost.

point3d, can you tell us a domain you had hosted with PowerVPS? You can post it here or use the Report button to send it to the helpdesk. This is a standard question we ask for verification purposes.
Thanks!
Lois

Hi Lois,
my most problematic domain on VPS, that as far as I understoood from the powervps support team, requires more resources is wscraft cms - wscraft.com
PowerVPS is a good company, it provided me with all the necessary support and did its best to solve the problems we had.
Just I need more resourceful and slhost.com offered me a better solution.
For now I'm not going to transfer all my sites just the ones that require additional resources. Regarding the rest I'll decide depending on the service provided.

I am looking around for a VPS and found this post about Slhost (one I was considering until I got my calculator out) but from doing all the numbers with disk space primarily if Slhost's customers use the highly "assumed" oversold Disk Space they are offering on their servers the servers would more or less stop working. They must be hoping or banking on everyone using under 10% of their disk space. Feel free to do the math as with their offering the numbers don't match up unless their is some overselling going on. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see their offering is out there. I am very against overselling as my sites need to work properly with the shopping carts I use and daily sales that come in. Anyone feel free to do the numbers and tell me if I am wrong? I feel not unless they don't do the daily backup's they advertise? Can someone confirm they do daily backup's? I think I will go with Powervps as selling that much disk space for that price makes me question their offering for the long haul.
Thanks

macmad,
Im sure i have read somewhere that they DO DAILY BACKUPS. as well as you can purchase remote disk space for just $0.50 per 1GB... so i guess they already have enough disk to handle everything in the long run too.
What would you say?

Just do the math once. The numbers don't make sense to me. Based on their servers and the amount of usable disk space they would be able to
put no more then 10-15 VPS's on a server. Then factor in the cost they sell these plans for. It is quite odd. Anyone out there able to confirm
they do daily backup's? This really draws questions in my mind.
