That exploit was a hoax. Dynadot could never reproduce it and did not have any complaints from anyone who lost a domain.

They're a small registrar. Dependable and with good support.

They patched it you mean within 6 hours of it being made public.

Dynadot's official response to this exploit was:

"This supposed exploit has been circulating around the web for a few weeks now. We were not able to reproduce it. We have received no complaints of domains being stolen this entire time."

You can read the full discussion of this on their forum here:

It scares the crap out of me that dynadot has taken a public stance of "we will suspend your domain(s) if we see fit" attitude. This is the attitude Godaddy and Directnic have taken as well which is quite sad.

Everyone should check this out:

Seems someone from dynadot said the exploit wasn't true but it sure looks like it was

Don't you love these official responses? Instead of apologizing for their terrible security, just lie!

Do you have absolute proof that it was real? Otherwise it kinda seems like you have something personal against them...

I think what they said was "they couldn't reproduce it"

But, Stu, they also said that no one has complained that their domain was stolen. I would think this is the most important part of their statement. If it is true, of course.

Well, if they couldn't reproduce it, then probably nobody else could either. but as Kevin said, they probably patched it before they tried to reproduce it And yes, I agree, that the fact no domain was stolen was the most important part of their statement.

Actually I've always liked their "clean" interface, and they're new CP is even better than their last one. The only problem I see with them is their propensity to pull domains when they receive any complaints.

Their interface is great, however I have started to pull my domains out because of their policies.

Where are you putting them?

Actually, if they're just parked. there isn't much danger. So we shouldn't get hyper over their policies. Most of my domains are parked, which is why I'm not overly concerned with my domains at GoDaddy, for example.

I'm moving important domains over to Moniker, I also have some domains at www.rebel.com which doesn't seem to be too bad. Their support is great. I'm thinking about getting an srsplus account but haven't heard back from one of their reps.
