    Thumbs up MediaLayer.com Review -

    Hello,

I just wanted to share my thoughts on MediaLayer's hosting... (
    www.medialayer.com )

Originally I started out with another host where I suffered from a lot
of downtime and performance issues. I'd rather not air my dirty
laundry in public, so I won't post the name of the other host

Anyways, I got in touch with MediaLayer and had a custom plan tailored
exactly to my needs. I liked the deal, but I negotiated a bit and we
    came to an agreement.

    ...Fast forward a few months....

I've experienced very minimal issues with MediaLayer, and any issues
that I've had have always been handled promptly. I submit a ticket,
and get a response within just minutes. They also have a really cool
paging system, where I know I will be in touch with a technician,
right away. They get top marks in support, another thing my old
provider lacked. Performance has always been great too, there's no
such thing as "peak hour performance" at MediaLayer, the load is
    always very low.

Unfortunately for a new feature on my site I would require root access
and decided to go with a VPS. MediaLayer was actually happy to give me
advice in choosing a VPS provider, and for a small fee were able to
optimize / secure it for me as well. My site is
is currently running on the VPS - it works great. Although the VPS
itself isn't hosted by them, they've configured it to run very well.
My site gets quite a lot of hits and I never see any issues with the
performance. Haven't had any downtime on the VPS either. On top of
this, they also did the full migration to the VPS for me, at no
    additional charge...

I have to say it's hard to complain about these guys, just wanted to
give a shout out to them for the great work, and I hope to use them
again for some future projects and administration work.

    Cheers,
    Ben

If that's not a case of going the extra mile to make the customer happy, I don't know what is.

I'm curious that when you say lots of hits, what is the magnitude of hits per month or day (if you are okay with sharing)?

I read often about others who can handle lots of hits with a VPS, but it can mean many things to different people. It could mean 100,000 hits for one person feels like a lot. To another, 1 million hits per month feels like a lot.

Wow, that's probably one of the best reviews I've ever read. Indeed, that's customer service at a level hard to find in shared webhosting these days.
