    Question about Canadian TV

    Hiya,

I'm in Toronto for NANOG during the NFL Super Bowl on Sunday, February 4th. From what I can find via Google searches, the Super Bowl will be televised in Canada on something called "Global TV" or "Global National". Is this a network (like NBC or CBS or ABC or FOX in the U.S.) and is it widely carried on Canadian cable networks?

Sorry for my ignorance, but I really want to watch this game

    Thanks!

We get ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, FOX etc. in Canada on basic hotel cable.

One thing you may want to know, you will not see any of those great Super Bowl commercials as they are not shown up here.

As far as I know Global (CanWest MediaWorks Inc.) owns the broadcasting rights to the Super Bowl not TSN (CTVglobemedia). So you won't be watching no Super Bowl other than the NFL Countdown or NFL Primetime shows and highlights on TSN/RDS.

I may be out of the broadcasting loop for a few years but I still know how it works.
