    External CD Drive

In my office most PC's don't have CD Drive, we use CD drive shared in one of the PC for accessing CD from other PC's. But at times, we need OS reinstall, now we fit a spare CD drive into the PC that need OS reinstallation, this need some extra work to open the cabinet and fix cd drive, etc...

If external CD Drive can be used to boot, it will be good as i can plug it into any PC easily. Anyone know if i can boot from an external CD Drive ?

I think there are boards that can't boot with an external cd drive. But if your pc can do this task, all you need to do is to set it up in your bios to boot from USB.
