For the last few years I have used shared hosting with mostly good luck.
Smaller MySql PHP websites with perhaps 500 visits a day. Lately I have started to make plans for a number of new sites but am not quite ready for a dedicated host.
Searching around I found a reasonably priced VPS/dedicated host wiredtree.com
I signed up for their entry level plan with Cpanel/WHM.
Their support so far is friendly and quick. But most importantly they are teaching me how to use WHM and transfer my existing sites. The fact that they are teaching me, is what prompted me to write this favorable report so early.
There are many cheaper hosts out there with unmanaged VPS and email only support, but these guys are very helpful.
They are new and many people are scared to use new hosts, but this is one of the reasons that I went with them. Being new every customer is a person not an account number and they have the time to work with and teach new customers.
I will report later about any uptime and speed etc.
My main site is samhober.com but I have not yet moved it.
I just like plesk as imho it is less bloated than cpanel xD , but to be honest if you want to give your clients a lot of features cpanel is kind of the best choice.
I only use a small percent of the features but am slowly learning - and enjoying myself. Which is why I like Wiredtree support they are patient and give helpful answers.
They are also smart because by spending some time with less sophisticated persons such as myself, they will gain my loyalty and receive less questions later - one hopes... Of course perhaps I might just make more complicated questions?
