I'm getting ready to move a site from a shared cPanel hosting solution to my own WHM/cPanel dedicated server. I have done a move like this manually many times before but I was looking into the Full cPanel site Backup since both locations are running cPanel.
My question is what exactly does the full backup include? I do understand it would include the cPanel settings and the directory structure & files, but does this also include MySQL databases associated with this site/account? Also, will this move also transfer all email and settings aswell?
I've been doing some searching but just can't find a listing of what this type of backup/restore actually includes. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
yeah when you generate cpanel full backup it will include MySQL databases also site/account also your homedir with your emails setting
so you get everything on your site
all you need when moving now is to generate a full backup to your site and then move the backup to public_html folder and change the permission to 644 and then in side your new server using ssh go to home directory and then use wget www.domain.com/fullbackup.tar.gz
change domain.com to your domain name and then from WHM you can restore your file using Restore a Full Backup/cpmovie file
all the best to you

An even easier option from within WHM is under the Transfers Option:
Copy an account from another server with account password
It does the backup and restores it itself - talk about easy
yep, i highly recommend you just give your host your old login info and ip and have him just transfer it for you. This way if there are any mysql version differences, etc, it will correct them for you.
